MALAYSIA-BRUNEI COOPERATION IN MALAY CUSTOMS TO CONTINUE - MINISTER

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia-Brunei cooperation in research of
Malay customs and craft will be continued to protect the culture of both
countries.

Information Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim said
research in Malay customs should try to find similarities between the two
monarchy systems.

"We will continue to foster closer bilateral and cultural ties via the
creative industry as it can help the Asean community to progress," he said
after watching 'Malam Gala Titian Budaya Malaysia-Brunei' at Palace of Culture
(Istana Budaya) Friday night.

His wife Masnah and Brunei Culture, Youth and Sports Minister
Datuk Paduka Awang Haji Hazair Abdullah were also present.

Brunei presented a dance medley called 'Samalindang' and 'Adun Ku Bima'
while Malaysia was represented by singers Andre Goh, Jamal Abdillah and
David Arumugan.
