AYODHYA-LD AIMPLB 3 LST

As per the Shariat, no one can either shift a mosque,
sell or gift its land to anyone," the Board members asserted.
On the stand taken by political parties, including the
Samajwadi Party and the communists who have expressed their
views against the verdict, they said the Board was totally an
apolitical body.
"We are neither concerned about what stand they are
taking nor are we seeking anyone's support in our fight."
The members said that the feeling among the Muslims is to
approach the Supreme Court and the Board wants to evolve a
united legal strategy in this connection.
"Even Ansari has stated that he would abide by the
Board's decision," they said, adding that the community would
accept the final verdict of the Supreme Court.
Soon after the AIMPLB's decision, the ruling Congress
party said it was the natural right of anyone to appeal
against the verdict.
"It is the natural right of any person or organisation to
go to the Supreme Court against the verdict of the Allahabad
High Court," party spokesman Mohan Prakash said in India's
capital New Delhi.
Meanwhile, president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad
and Mahant of Hanumanghari, Gyan Das said "people of Ayodhya
can find a solution to this issue if persons having political
affiliation stay away from it."
Gyan Das, who held discussions with Ansari on October 13,
told reporters that talks were heading in the right direction
and a draft agreement was being chalked out. "When this draft
agreement will come out in the open, all the parties involved
will be happy," he said.
However, opposition Bhartiya Janata Party leader Vinay
Katiyar said, "In the national interest it would be better
that Muslims leave their claim on the disputed site and give a
message of unity to the world by paving the way for
construction of temple on Ram Janmbhoomi."
Supporting the AIMPLB's decision to appeal, Ansari said
he will, however, continue his efforts to bring the two sides
together for building a temple and a mosque side by side. PTI
