HARVARD, OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITIES TO COMPETE IN DEBATE COMPETITION
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19, (Bernama)-- Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge universities
have comfirmed their participation in the World University Peace Invitational
Debate competition to be held at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) here in
December.
Its organising chairman, Shamsul Azhar Ismail said this will be the second time
UPM is hosting the competition after the first in 1997.
"We are expecting more international universities to confirm their
participation by end of this month," he told reporters after the competition's soft
launch by Deputy Higher Education, Saifuddin Abdullah here Monday.
Shamsul said besides UPM, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM)
will represent Malaysia in this prestigeous international university debate to
be held from 18 to 23 December.
