Kasab throws tantrums, spits on camera, walks away in a huff

Mumbai, Oct 19 (PTI) Known for his moodswings,
Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab, Tuesday spat on a webcam
during hearing in the High Court of the west Indian city of
Mumbai on confirmation of his death sentence, prompting the
judges to sternly tell him not to throw tantrums and behave
properly.
Justice Ranjana Desai and Justice R V More gave the
warning when they saw Kasab arguing with policemen and
spitting on the camera during the video conference, specially
arranged for him to hear the 26/11 case in which he was
earlier convicted.
Kasab, incarcerated for over two years in the high
security Arthur Road jail, asked, "Aap mujhe bahar ki duniya
se wakif kijiye. Mujhe America bejh do. Kis charge pe yajan
rakha hai?" (Why don't you send me out. Send me to America. On
what charge have you kept me here").
However, the judges told him to consult his lawyers on
this issue.
After getting an earful from the judges, Kasab walked
away in a huff following which the judges remarked, "spitting
is not expected (of him)...he (Kasab) has walked out on his
own and the court cannot help it."
The judges also said that there is no requirement in
law to allow Kasab to remain present during the confirmation
of his death sentence. If he does not want to hear then the
court cannot help it.
However, the judges asked the police to ask Kasab
whether he wanted to hear the arguments through video
conference and advised them to keep a record of this.
