MBAM DELEGATES AT CHINA-ASEAN INFRASTRUCTURE COOPERATION FORUM
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The Master Builders Association Malaysia
(MBAM) has sent 20 delegates to attend the China-Asean Infrastructure
Cooperation Forum which begins wednesday in Nanning, Guangxi Province.
Led by MBAM president Kwan Foh Kwai, the main objective to sign a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) between the Asean Constructors Federation (ACF) and China
International Contractors Association (Chinca).
Through the MoU, ACF and Chinca have committed to promote and enhance
cooperation between members in the construction and construction related
industries, MBAM said in a statement Wednesday.
"Regular monitoring, evaluation and review of various aspects of
China-Asean's construction industry, in direct collaboration with the relevant
country's government agencies, will be the best way to promote national, social and
economic development objectives," said Kwan.
According to MBAM, Chinca can be a potential partner in supplying building
materials and machinery to meet needs of the 10th Malaysian Plan as well as the
machinery requirements under the Industrialised Building System roadmap.
"The visit also wants to study the feasibility of involving Chinca to help
source for funding for projects under the Public-Private Partnership initiatives
in Malaysia," said Kwan.
The delegation members will also go for study visits to share information and
resources as well as to get updates on the latest construction related knowledge
in China, he said.
