MATRADE IN GERMANY MISSION TO PROMOTE RUBBER AND PLASTIC PRODUCTS
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Thirteen Malaysian companies will
participate in K 2010, the world's largest international trade fair for the plastic
and rubber industries.
Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) will lead the
companies at the Malaysian Pavilion in K-2010, which will be held in Dusseldorf,
Germany, from Oct 27 to Nov 3.
In a statement Monday, Matrade said Malaysia's participation at K-2010 will
coincide with its specialised marketing mission for rubber and plastic products
to Dusseldorf from Oct 24 to 29.
"As Germany pulls out of one of the worst recessions in recent times, the
Malaysian rubber and plastic industries are taking stock and preparing for the
future," said Matrade chief executive officer Noharuddin Nordin.
"K 2010 has come at the right time to help them boost their export orders to
Germany. Our specialised marketing mission to Dusseldorf and our presence at K
2010 will provide opportunities for Malaysian companies to assess Germany's
market conditions and potential demand for Malaysian plastic and rubber products
in 2011 and beyond," he said.
Among European Union countries, Germany was Malaysia's largest trading partner
last year with Malaysia's total exports to Germany valued at RM14.83 billion.

Last year, Malaysia's exports of rubber and plastic products to Germany were
worth RM629.6 million and RM125.5 million respectively.
From January to June 2010, Malaysia's exports of rubber and plastic products to
Germany were valued at RM340.7 million and RM60.2 million respectively.
