MALAYSIA'S ECSB IN DEAL TO MARKET APC POWER MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS LOCALLY
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- ECS ICT Bhd (ECSB) has signed an agreement
with American Power Conversion Corporation (APC) to market APC power management
products in Malaysia.
Under the agreement, ECSB's subsidiary ECS Pericomp Sdn Bhd will distribute
a wide range of APC uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and cooling equipment for
consumers and the corporate sector, including data centres.
"This collaboration with APC marks the first power and cooling equipment to
be distributed through ECSB's nationwide channel, and effectively expands our
product range even further to meet front-end and back-end ICT (information and
communications technology) requirements for the corporate sector such as data
centres," said ECSB managing director Foo Sen Chin.
APC, part of the Schneider Electric Group, is a leading provider of
end-to-end back-up power products and services, and power protection solutions.
For its nine-month period ended Sept 30, 2010, ECSB announced a net profit
of RM20.6 million (US$6.64 million), up 25.2 per cent from RM16.4 million
(US$5.29 million) in the same period last year due to better contribution from
enterprise systems.
Revenue increased to RM956.0 million (US$308.38 million) from RM940.4 million (US$303.35 million) previously, the group said.
