India wants China to offer level playing field to its firms
New Delhi, Nov 1 (PTI) India on Monday hoped that
China would provide a level playing field to its companies,
particularly in sectors where they were facing hurdles
restricting their access to the market in that country.
"We hope China will provide level playing field
especially in the pharmaceutical and the IT sectors, where we
face barriers, which restrict market access," External Affairs
Minister S M Krishna said at a seminar organised here jointly
by the Chinese Communist Party and the Congress.
China is one of India's largest trading partners and
the two countries hope to touch the USD 60 billion mark in
bilateral trade soon as aimed by the premiers of the two
countries recently, Krishna said.
Apart from economic ties, the two countries can also
partner in the field of science and technology, which can
contribute to their development, he said.
