MALAYSIA, SINGAPORE TALKS CONTINUE END OF MONTH

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Further talks on outstanding issues between Malaysia and Singapore will be held in Singapore at the end of this month, the Lower House of Parliament was told Monday.

Deputy Foreign Ministerr Richard Riot said this fourth meeting of the Malaysia-Singapore Joint Implementation Team (MSJIT) would continue talks on the moving of the Tanjong Pagar railway station to Woodlands in Singappore as well as setting up a customs, immigration and quarantine complex there (Woodlands).

Besides this the meeting would also discuss the setting of M-S Pte Ltd, a joint venture company between the two nations, to develop the vacated Tanjong Pagar area, he said in replying to a question from MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.

Tajuddin had wanted to know the progress of the talks.

Riot added that the decisions taken in the meeting, which would be mutually beneficial, would culminate in the signing of an agreement between the two countries in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 31.
