TENAGA NASIONAL WINS AWARD FOR MOST ADMIRED ASEAN ENTERPRISE
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), Malaysia's main
energy provider, won the award for the "Most Admired Asean Enterprise in
Employment Category" at the 2010 Asean Business and Investment Summit
(Asean-BIS) held in Hanoi, Vietnam, last week.
TNB vice president of human resource, Muhammad Razif Abdul Rahman, received the
award from Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem, TNB said in a
statement Tuesday.
The award was presented in recognition of TNB's manpower planning, its
implementation of performance management system and the setting up of a private
university, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten).
The winners were chosen out of 24 finalists by an independent judging panel
comprising top business leaders, economists and academics from Asean countries.
"Awards of this nature will inspire us to excel in our unwavering pursuits to be
one of the top ranked utilities in the world," said TNB president and chief
executive officer Che Khalib Mohamad Noh.
TNB was also nominated as one of the finalists for the "Top Three Most Admired
Asean Enterprise in Corporate Social Responsibility Category".
Asean-BIS was organised in conjunction with the just concluded 17th Asean Summit.
