CLINTON ENDS THREE-DAY VISIT TO MALAYSIA

PETALING JAYA (Malaysia), Nov 3 (Bernama) -- US Secretary of State Hillary
Rodham Clinton ended her three-day official visit to Malaysia Wednesday, singing
praises of Malaysia's economy dynamism in creating many positive spillover
effects.

"What you have done in Malaysia as evident by the dynamism of the economy and
everything that I saw driving around Kuala Lumpur, is exactly what we hope for,
in the broader region.

"You are creating good jobs, raising income and lifting up poverty people, who
now have a chance to fulfill their own dream.

"One of the most important goals that we share is to boost economic growth and
widespread prosperity in Malaysia and across the Asia Pacific region," she said.

Clinton was speaking at the Malaysia Airlines showcase of partnership with
American companies operating in Malaysia at Skypark Terminal, Sultan Abdul Aziz
Shah Airport in Subang, before departing for Papua New Guinea.

Transport Minister Kong Cho Ha, Malaysia Airlines chairman Dr Munir Abdul Majid
and managing director/chief executive officer Tengku Azmil Zaharuddin were among
those present to send off the secretary of state.

While here, Clinton engaged in fruitful meetings with Deputy Prime Minister
Muhyiddin Yassin and Foreign Minister Anifah Aman.

Malaysia is listed as part of her Asia tour which includes Vietnam, China and
Cambodia, among others.
