COMMUNITY PROGRAMME MUST STRESS ON PEOPLE'S RIGHTS, SAYS MINISTER

KUALA KLAWANG (Malaysia), Nov 11 (Bernama) -- The 1Malaysia Community
programme must stress on the rights of the people as enshrined in the
Constitution, said Information Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim.

He said the programme should be an ongoing effort so that each and every
Malaysian understood the Constitution, the Rukun Negara (National Philosophy),
the rights of the Malay rulers and the special position of the Malays and other
bumiputeras.

Rais said this when met by reporters after handing over 16 heads of cattle
for the Aidiladha sacrifice for the Jelubu parliamentary constituency, at
the Sungai Relai mosque in Kampung Gelami near here Wednesday.


Rais is also the Member of Parliament for Jelebu.

Jelebu is one of the largest districts in Negeri Sembilan, a state in
Peninsular Malaysia, borders both the Nilai district and Selangor.
