MPP IS REGISTERED WITH SUPREME COURT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ November 12, after consideration of the application for registration by Mongolian People's Party, the Supreme Court of the country officially registered the Party. The Supreme Court has found that the name
"Mongolian People's Party" does not coincide with the name of the other registered parties or legal entities and there are no violations of the laws on "Political parties", "State registration" and Civil law. For these reasons, it was considered appropriate to re- register the Party so as a sufficient legal basis exists for that.
In connection with this, a leader of MPP S.Batbold and other officials have organized a briefing for mass media with a participation of ex-president N.Bagabandi. Mr S. Batbold gave information about the registration results. "The Supreme court, in its resolution № 2, has granted our party a certificate of registration and 1st of March of 1921 has been fixed as the date of foundation of MPP. As prescribed in the resolution, total number of MPP's members is 161 300 and its assets stands at MNT 646.7 mln as of 1990," said S.Batbold. "Starting from of the day of receiving the registration certificate, a parliament faction of former MPRP will be officially named "parliament faction of MPP'", he added. The Leader of MPP has demonstrated to the gathered an original stamp of the Party which was made in 1922 and said that it would conveyed as a sacred object to the Independence hall when Independence Palace will be open.
