Development of agro-industrial complex

Kyzylorda, 6 August (Khabar) - The rice harvest campaign is about to start in the Kyzylorda region, where 90% of farming equipment has been repaired.

Almost 1 billion tenge was spent on the development of the agro-industrial
complex in Kyzylorda this year, with 20 thousand tenge in subsidies
allocated to each hectare of rice fields. Farmers say they were able to grow
new kinds of rice thanks to government support.

Marat Bisenov, director of company:
- Preparations for the rice harvest have been redoubled. New Italian
combined harvesters will be used to harvest the rice while the purchase of
10 other combines is being negotiated with Russia.

New rice crops will be processed in a restored elevator called "Altyn
kamba" which has remained unused for many years. Investments from the
'Ontustik" social and entrepreneurial corporation helped to renovate it.

Arman Yevniyev, first deputy chairman, social and entrepreneurial
corporation "Ontustik":
- We are ready to invest 20 million US dollars into the site and carry out a
project which will include rice harvesting as well as refining, storing and
processing.

The corporation plans to build a flour-mill to refine wheat bought in the
North Kazakhstan region and provide mixed fodder.
