Despite better standard of living and advancement in medical sciences, she
noted that people were afflicted with illnesses at a young age.

concept of health, we do not nurture healthy habits from young and years of
bodily abuse have caused minor ailments to accumulate and become serious
illnesses," said Heng.

The deputy minister said this when opening the 7th International Health Fair
2010 and 1st Tea, Beverages and Healthcare Fair at the Putra World Trade Centre
(PWTC) here Saturday.

Heng said, one way to nurture healthy habits was to drink tea as it was
known to improve one's health.

"The benefits of drinking tea are manifold and experts have proven that
drinking tea not only improves health, but also prevents and even cures certain
diseases," she said.

On the fair, she said it would allow the public to understand the benefits
of tea on healthcare, and also promoted the tea culture and the future of green
beverages.
