MALAYSIA`S INTAN TO TRAIN CENTRAL ASIAN OFFICERS

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- Fourteen officers from Uzbekistan,
Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will have an insight on Malaysia's experience in
economic development and project management during a two-week training, starting
here Monday.

In a statement, the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) said
they comprised middle and senior level officers from various government
departments and agencies in the three countries.

These officials would be briefed on how the Malaysian government tackles
economic issues during crises as well as on the development of Islamic finance
and institutions, and planning and evaluation of successful projects.

Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) would also share the
country's success story in attracting foreign direct investment, Intan said.

The training is jointly organised by Intan, the Foreign Ministry and
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
