Kuwaiti Prime Minister ends visit to Laos

(KPL) Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and
his delegation yesterday left here ending an official visit to Laos.
During the visit to Laos, Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser met with Lao
President Choummaly Sayasone. Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser and his
delegation held talks with the Lao side headed by Prime Minister Bouasone
Bouphavanh.
At the session, the two sides reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations
between both countries and expressed their satisfaction with the development
of those relations, affirming their determination and full willingness to
promote them for the common interests of both friendly peoples and nations.
The two sides shared the views on the overall issues of common interest for
both countries, and on the necessity to activate them in a way that serves
the interest and prosperity of their peoples. In the field of discussing the
development and growth of economic relations, the two countries agreed to
open new horizons for co-operation between them that would increase the
investments and promote commercial exchange.
The two countries signed several agreements in this regard that would
strengthen the friendly relations between them.
The two sides discussed ways to promote co-operation in all fields,
especially economic ones, and indicated that it is in their common interest
to establish multileveled economic relations.
The State of Kuwait presented its visions concerning the acceleration of the
development process in light of the active economic movement witnesses in
the region, which presents an opportunity for friends to work and
participate in the developmental activities.
The Kuwaiti side affirmed that Kuwait has developed rules and regulations
that would give advantages to foreign investment, and amend the existing
taxation laws to a status that would greatly assist the participation of the
foreign investor.
The two sides shared the view that the stability of the world oil market is
a cornerstone for the growth of world economy. In this regard, the Lao
People's Democratic Republic expressed its appreciation for the significant
role of Kuwait to secure continued oil supplies. The two sides also agreed
on the importance of co-operation in the development of gas and oil sector
to strengthen bilateral relations between both countries.
The Lao People's Democratic Republic expressed the appreciation of its
government and people for the State of Kuwait's kind gesture represented by
the assistance received through the Kuwaiti Fund for Economic Development
project in the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Within the context of discussing international political issues, the two
sides shared the views concerning the current situation.
The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the construction spirit of
co-operation that prevailed over their discussions, which reflected the
close relations binding the two friendly nations, stressing at the same time
the importance of continuing such meetings.
H.H Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the State
of Kuwait, convey a formal invitation from H.H Emir of Koweit to H.E Mr.
Choummaly Sayasone, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and
extended a formal invitation to H.E Bouasone Bouphavanh, Prime Minister of
Lao PDR, to visit the state of Kuwait. The Lao side expressed thanks and
accepted the invitation and will inform the date of visits through
diplomatic channel.
