Visiting VC of Japan Rikkoyo University calls on President
DHAKA, Bangladesh, August 7 (BSS)- Visiting Vice Chancellor of Rikkoyo
University of Japan Dr Kiyoshi Kasahara today called on President
Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban.
Welcoming Dr Kasahara to Bangabhaban, the President thanked
him for his keen interest about Bangladesh and its people.
Referring to present relations between Dhaka and Tokyo,
Professor Iajuddin praised Japan's role in Bangladesh's
infrastructure development as the single largest development
partner of the country.
He also thanked Japan government for providing scholarship
to the Bangladesh's students and sought Japanese cooperation to
Bangladesh in its technological development and investment.
Describing the Rikkoyo University as one of the oldest
university of Japan, the president said that the university could
introduce education linkage programme with Bangladeshi
universities, particularly with Dhaka University, which help
expand people to people to contract further between the
countries.
Dr Kiyoshi Kasahara praised the Bangladeshi people and
expressed hope that the country would be turned into a prosperous
country very soon. The Bangladeshi Professor of Social Design
Studies of the Rikkoyo University Dr Nasir Uddin Jamadar was
Present during the meeting.
Secretary of the President Office Md Sirajul Islam, Military
Secretary to the President Major General Mohammad Ruhul Amin and
Other officials were present on the occasion.
