LD RUPEE TWO LAST

The rupee premium for the forward dollar ended slightly
lower on fresh receiving by exporters. The benchmark six-month
forward dollar premium payable in May closed lower at 126-1/2
-128-1/2 paise as against 128-1/2-130-1/2 paise on Wednesday.
Far-forward contracts maturing in November also finished
slightly lower at 236-238 from 236-1/2-238-1/2 paise.
The Reserve Bank of India fixed the reference rate for
the dollar at Rs 45.02 and the euro at Rs 59.12.
The rupee moved up further to Rs 69.50/52 per pound
sterling as against 69.66/68 on Wednesday and also firmed up
against the euro to Rs 59.14/16 per euro as against Rs 59.27/
29 per euro previously.
However, it reacted downwards against the Japanese Yen
to Rs 54.48/50 per 100 yen from its last close of Rs 54.03/05.
