SPORT-IND-LD LUNCH 2LST

Morkel's away going delivery cramped Harbhajan, kissed
the outside edge of his blade and landed safely in the hands
of Jacques Kallis at second slip as India further slumped to
148 for seven.
Laxman, however, held on to the other end and completed a
well-accomplished fifty in 95 balls with a couple of runs off
Morkel in the 47th over.
At the other end, Zaheer Khan lived dangerously and was
lucky to survive two confident LBW appeals -- one of Steyn and
the other of Paul Harris.
However, the pacer contributed with a useful 59-ball 27
and shared an unfinished 70-run eighth wicket partnership with
Laxman to consolidate India's position in the match.
Laxman, in company of Zaheer, continued his good work and
picked up two more boundaries off Paul Harris in the 52nd and
60th over. He also picked up a boundary off Steyn when his
inside edge got past a diving Boucher in the 53rd over.
Zaheer also chimed in with a couple of boundaries off
Tsotsobe and Harris at mid-off and deep square leg to
contribute to the total.
Just before lunch, the gutsy pacer slammed two more fours
off Tsotsobe in the last two balls as India went into the
break with their heads held high. PTI Cor
