President condoles death of Sabarimala pilgrims

STAMPEDE-PRESIDENT

New Delhi, Jan 15 (PTI) Indian President Pratibha
Patil on Saturday condoled the death of Sabarimala pilgrims in
a stampede at Pullumedu in southern Indian state Kerala's
Idukki district.
Sabarimala is a Hindu pilgrimage center located in the
Western Ghat mountain ranges of Pathanamthitta District in
Kerala.
In a letter to the Kerala chief minister and governor,
she expressed grief over the tragedy.
Patil wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in
the incident that took place on Friday.
Over 100 pilgrims returning from the shrine were
killed and 50 others injured in the stampede. PTI SAP
