Two Turkish films will take part in the 15th Sofia Film Festival.

SOFIA (A.A) – 27.01.2011 – Two Turkish films will take part in the 15th Sofia Film Festival. 
"White as Snow" by Selim Gunes and "Honey" by Semih Kaplanoglu will be screened during the festival which will take place in the Bulgarian capital from March 4 to 13. 
"White as Snow" is one of twelve films competing for this year's Grand Prix Award while "Honey" which won the "Golden Bear Award" at the Berlin Film Festival, will be shown under the "Big Five" section of the festival which includes the most highly-awarded titles at prestigious international film festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Toronto and Sundance. The other films in the Big Five section are "Winter's Bone" by Debra Granik (Main Prize at Sundance), "If I Want To Whistle, I Whistle" by Florian Serban (Special Jury Award at Berlinale) and "Poetry" by Lee Changdong (Best Script Award at Cannes).
This year's festival will feature nearly 100 films, 30 documentaries and more than 70 short films. They will be screened under the traditional festival sections: "International Competition for the First and Second Feature Films", "The Big Five", "Cinema Today", "Cinema Tomorrow", "New Bulgarian Cinema", "Balkan Competition". Twelve films will be competing for the Grand Prix Award this year. Seven of them have been confirmed so far. They are productions from Bulgaria, Turkey, Portugal, USA, Iran and Germany. Icelandic director and producer Fridrik Tor Fridrikson  will chair the international jury which will pick the winners of the main prizes.
