Sensex gains over 104 points in opening trade

Mumbai, Feb 8 (PTI) The Sensex gained over 104 points in

amid a firming trend in overseas markets.

higher in the previous session, rose further by 104.32 points,
or 0.58 per cent, to 18,141.51 points in the first few minutes
of trade today.
In a similar fashion, the broad-based National Stock
Exchange Nifty index rose by 36.35 points, or 0.67 per cent,

following overnight gains in the US market mainly bolstered
the trading sentiment here.
Stocks of metal, banking, IT and power stocks led the
gains.

Kong's Hang Sang index rose by 0.21 per cent in early trade
