NA President receives Vietnam guests
(KPL) - Mr. Thongsing Thammavong, President of the National Assembly received at his office in Vientiane a courtesy visit of high ranking delegation of Vietnamese Planning and Investment Ministry led by its Minister Vo Hong Phuc.
At the talks, Mr. Vo Hong Phuc briefed Mr. Thongsing about the social-economic development in Vietnam and the results of the workingsession between his delegation and Lao counterpart, especially the situation of foreign direct investment projects in Vietnam and the investment of Vietnamese investors in Laos. He said that so far the investment of Vietnam in Laos has reached 117 projects with the total investment of US$ 1.28 billion.
These included in the commercial trees plantation and mining projects.
On this occasion, Mr. Thongsing expressed congratulations for the visit to Laos of the Vietnamese delegation and considered it as a big contribution to strengthening the traditional friendship relation and all round co-operation between Laos and Vietnam.
On the same day, NA President Thongsing also received a courtesy visit of Myanmar Ambassador U Nyunt Slaing. The sides has shared their point of views on the diplomatic relation and co-operation between Laos and Myanmar.
