Torch shines light on path of Uncle Ho
Hanoi (VNA) - A bright torch, token of a movement to learn and follow the moral example set by President Ho Chi Minh, stopped over in the capital city on August 14 Ho Chi Minh City.
President Nguyen Minh Triet was presented at the ceremony to play host to " Vietnam 's bright torch following the steps of Uncle Ho." The President said despite the country coping with many difficulties, the Party and people would stand together to advance the country forward, determined on achieving a strong nation of wealthy people living in anequal, democratic and civilised society.
The torch is scheduled to cross 36 cities and provinces along the country, from Cao Bang province in the north to the southernmost province of Ca Mau , before arriving at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in HCM City onSeptember 2.
This is the second time the torch-light procession has been held to commemorate the August Revolution and Independence Day which falls on September 2 every year.-Enditem
