New Georgetown Building Cost QRs 600 mn
Doha (QNA) - Eng Saad al Mohannadi, Vice President of Qatar Foundation for Projects, Facilities and Equipment, said on Monday that the cost of the building of the University of Georgetown which was launched on Sunday has reached 600 million riyals , 570 million for design and construction and 30 million for furnishing and equipment.
He said at a news conference that the new building was completed in r 7.8 million hours of work. It was built upon an area of 360 thousand square feet,he noted.
It contains a rich library that includes some 60 thousand volumes and publications, 5 thousand digital discs and 500 thousand book available through the internet, he added.
The building houses the new main hall consisting of 3 floors and a large party hall that can accommodate 350 people, along with 14 classrooms and an auditorium.
He also noted that the building is compatible with the standards of green building.
It can accommodate 450 students, whereas their number now reached 180, he said.
