POL: Pakistan government's top most priority is improve law and order, economy and ensure its writ

Islamabad, Aug 16 PPI: Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani says improving law and order situation and strengthening economy is his top most priority and would take every step to ensure writ of the government at all cost.

Responding to a point of order Friday in National Assembly (parliament) he said government is determined to eliminate terrorism and extremism that have disturbed peace and those involved in these heinous crimes would not be spared.

Glani said government from its inception changed policy on war on terrorism and is now working on political engagement. The development of country's tribal areas is also a priority as foreign terrorists who are one percent of total population ofarea exploit poor people for their nefarious designs.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan is capable enough to carry out operation against militants on its land and no foreign force will beallowed to intervene.

He said operation against miscreants in tribal areas will continue until desired results are achieved. He said foreign elements hiding in tribal areas would beflushed out.

According to a report at least eight militants were killed and twelve injured when security forces targetted their positions Friday in Bajaur tribal agency. Official sources said gunship helicopters hit militants hideouts at Damadola, Badan, Umrayand Dabbar.
