Turkey car sales up in January
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 16.02.2011 - Car sales in Turkey in January saw a powerful boost of 137.16 percent over the same period a year earlier as the EU 27 and EFTA market shrank 1.1 percent.
According to data compiled by a national association of automotive distributors in Turkey, nearly 30 thousand cars were sold, the second highest since a January 1994 sale of 35,929. Sales in January 2009 was 12,594.
Turkey ranked 8th to achieve the highest sales in Europe.
Total car sales in EU 27 plus EFTA countries reached nearly 1.1 million.
