Moscow suggests holding RNC session in RF -- Rogozin
BRUSSELS, March 2 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow has suggested that the North Atlantic Alliance hold a session of the Russia-NATO Council (RNC) in the territory of the Russsian Federation for the first-ever time in the second half of the current year, Dmitry Rogozin, Permanent Representative of Russia at NATO, told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. He said the idea had been under discussion ever since the Russia-NATO summit held in Lisbon on November 20, 2010.
Rogozin emphasized, "I have already delivered an official letter
containing Russia's proposals about holding an RNC session at
ambassadorial level in Sochi to NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh
Rasmussen".
"We suggest that the session focus on matters concerning anti-missile defence and other strategic problems of international security," the Russian Permanent Representative pointed out.
Rogozin said the NATO Secretary General "positively reacted to this invitation".
