CAREER FAIR TO GIVE POTENTIAL JOB SEEKERS AN INSIGHT INTO JAPANESE COMPANIES

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- The Japanese Chamber of Trade and Industry, Malaysia (JACTIM) - Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) career fair is intended to give potential job seekers an insight into Japanese companies in Malaysia and their business activities.

"Fourteen member companies are here not only to interview and employ suitable candidates but also give information about their companies," said JACTIM elected member of the board of directors, Takashi Mikami at the career fair launch here Wednesday.

Also present was UTAR Council chairman, Dr Ling Liong Sik and UTAR
president, Professor Dr Chuah Hean Teik.

Takashi said the career fair also provides exposure to students who intend to work in multinational companies, especially Japanese companies,in future.

"It is important for students who are future potential job seekers to be exposed to the requirements of multinational companies, especially Japanese companies, and equip themselves beforehand, he added.

JACTIM was founded in 1983 to promote the development of trade and commerce between Japan and Malaysia via industry and investment activity.

The chamber also contributes towards the development of cultural, social and educational activities in Malaysia.

As of January, the JACTIM membership comprised more than 545 Japanese companies operating in Malaysia.
