SINGAPORE HAILS BAHRAIN'S CALL FOR NATIONAL DIALOGUE
SINGAPORE, March 2 (Bernama) -- Singapore supports the positive developments in Bahrain in calling on all opposition and protesters to enter into a national dialogue to overcome the current crisis in the country, its Ministry of Foreign Affairs said here Wednesday.
In a statement in response to media queries on the dialogue, a ministry spokesman said the republic welcomed the National Dialogue initiated by Prince Salman Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, as a practical way forward to achieve national reconciliation.
"It is also a peaceful means to meet the aspirations of the people," the spokesman added.
Bahrain is one of several countries in the Middle East affected by ongoing anti-government protests.
