SCIENTISTS CONVERGE IN SABAH FOR MARINE SEMINAR




KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia), March 3 (Bernama) -- More than 100
scientists from universities and institutions in this region will converge in East Malaysia state of Sabah for the three-day Universiti Malaysia Sabah's (UMS) 8th Annual Seminar on Marine Science and Aquaculture, here beginning Tuesday.

They include scientists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Iran and the Philippines.

According to a statement issued by the UMS, the seminar is jointly organised by the Borneo Marine Research Institute, National Oceanography Directorate and Kinki University, Japan.

The seminar, themed "Sustainable Development & Management of Aquatic Resources", will include keynote addresses as well as oral and poster presentations, to be held in two concurrent sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday at the 1Borneo Grand Ballroom, near here.

UMS said the seminar, among others, was aimed at sharing and discussing research findings on marine aquatic resources and aquaculture.
