GULF DELEGATION CALLS ON ABDULLAH
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- A delegation from the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers (FGCCC) called on Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at Parliament House Thursday.
The delegation included Abdul Rahim Hassan Al-Naqi, Secretary-General of FGCCC, Chief Executive Officer (CEO),International GCC Trade Centre, Doha, Hamad Ali Safran, Suad Zahrani, Saudi Arabia General Coordinator GCC Trade Centre Saudi Arabia and Nor Azmi Abdullah, who represented the President of GulfPetroleum, Qatar.
Also present was Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (Mida)Director-General Jalilah Baba.
According to a statement, the meeting discussed FGCCC's plan to establishthe GCC-ASsean Economic Centre (GAEC) in Malaysia.
The establishment of the centre will create vast opportunities for companies in Malaysia, including widening of market opportunities and better networking between Malaysian and GGC-based companies, the statement says, adding that it will be the FGCCC's sole and official regional office in the Asean region, which would receive official support and endorsement from theGCC.
The FGCCC is the federation of chambers of the six Gulf Arab States--Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
