Kim Jong Il gives 'field guidance' to vegetable growing institute

PYONGYANG, March 4 (Itar-Tass) - Leader of the Democratic People's
Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Il has visited for "field guidance" the institute for experimental vegetable growing, located in the vicinity of Pyongyang. The North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Friday that the Secretary General of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Chairman of the State Defence Committee praised the staff members of this research centre "who by their useful work care about the health of the population and its nourishment."
He also stressed that the "institute has made great achievements in
improving the production of vegetables, including tomatoes and cabbage, on a modern scientific and technological base."
Kim Jong Il also visited the Botanical Institute, where he stressed
the importance of "making even greater efforts for cultivation of
different flowers."
The DPRK supreme leader was accompanied by his youngest son, Kim Jong Un, who holds the post of Deputy Chairman of the Central Military
Commission of the WPK that is headed by his father, members of the
Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Party's Central Committee.
