Pentasoft Rebrands As Aetins To Venture Into US And Europe

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) - Software company, Pentasoft Malaysia Sdn, Bhd, which recently rebranded itself into AETINS Sdn Bhd, will leverage on its past experience to make a mark in the international arena.

"AETINS will present a new and refreshing image to the company's look and feel, helping it to compete within a dynamic and diverse market," AETINS Chief Executive Officer Kuppusamy Kaniah told Bernama in an interview.

In a nutshell, the company specialises in supporting the ICT side of the insurance industry especially its flagship product, the Insurance Solution Framework, that is currently deployed over Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Spurred by improved economic sentiment, AETINS, acronym for Assured
Eternal Insurance Solutions, is looking to expand its operations to the United States and Europe.

"Our success can be attributed to our focus on the insurance industry only, where our strength lies within our integrated software solution that caters for all lines of insurance businesses," he said.

Kuppusamy elaborated that in matured industries such as in the United States, Europe and Australia, companies have legacy systems throughout the years that are more functional-oriented and not demand driven.

"These matured companies have been spending a lot of IT dollars to wrap up and provide what the industry and customers want today.

"However, there is a limit to how much you can wrap up and now is the right time for us to venture into these markets, providing a kind of value proposition and efficiency in the form of our software and integrated solution to these companies," he said.

Speaking on the recent political unrest in the Middle East, he said business was not dented by the turmoil.

"Business decisions might be delayed but our operations in Saudi Arabia was not affected. Infact, we experienced a turnaround in just one week where business is picking up again," he said.

He also sees a growing trend for Takaful, the Islamic insurance, which he said many countries were beginning to adopt.

Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) Chief Executive Officer Badlisham Ghazali described the company's rebranding exercise as an example of a small Malaysian company making it big, internationally.

"The growth of the company lends support to the fact that a home-grown Malaysian company can actually be successful overseas, with 70 per cent of its revenue currently derived from international operations," he said.

Previously, AETINS or formerly known as Pentasoft participated in MSC Malaysia's Capability Development Programme focusing on building capabilities through global best practices, process improvements and accredited professional certifications.

Moving forward, Badlisham hoped more companies would come forward and participate in programmes made available by MSC Malaysia to maximise their potential.
