Last Batch Of Malaysian Students From Libya Arrive Home

SEPANG (Bernama) - Five Malaysian students, sponsored by the World Islamic Call Society to pursue their studies at the Dakwah Islamiah University in Tripoli, Libya, arrived at KL International Airport early Saturday.

The three male and two female students boarded a Malaysia Airlines MH197 flight from Dhaka, Bangladesh and arrived at 7.30am after flight delays in Karachi, Pakistan and failing to get a connecting flight.

They are the last group of Malaysian students to be evacuated from the country following worsening violence due to protests from Libyans against their leader, Muammar Gaddafi.

Meanwhile, a statement from Wisma Putra (Foreign Ministry) said that a Ranhill Bhd employee, Tan Shaw Kiong, arrived at 10pm Friday at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, KLIA.
