Russian jet with humanitarian aid for Libyan refugees landed in Tunis
TUNIS (Itar-Tass) - A Russian Emergencies Ministry's plane
with humanitarian aid for refugees from Libya landed in Tunis early on
Sunday.
The Ilyushin-76 jet has delivered tents, medicines, and foodstuffs.
The Russian humanitarian aid will be sent to help Libyan refugees
staying in Tunisia's regions bordering Libya, Alexander Mamin, the head of
the consular department of the Russian embassy in Tunisia, told Itar-Tass.
According to Mamin, "there is no information about Russian citizens
who were forced to flee violence-hit Libya and are staying in Tunisia."
More than 100,000 have fled Libya for Tunisia since February 20.
Tunisia's defence ministry's forces are safeguarding law and order and
coordinating accommodation of the refugees.
