KEPPEL AMFELS GET US$195 MLN CONTRACT FROM PERFORADORA CENTRAL
SINGAPORE, March 7 (Bernama) -- Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US wholly-owned unit of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, has won a contract from Mexico's Perforadora Central SA de CV (Perforadora Central) to build a repeat jack-up rig valued at about US$195 million.
In a statement Monday, the company said the rig was slated for delivery in first quarter of 2013.
Mexico is the world's sixth largest producer of oil and has the seventh largest natural gas reserves in the Western Hemisphere.
Keppel AmFELS president, Tan Geok Seng, said with a strategic presence at the gateway of the Gulf of Mexico, the company would be in a prime position to serve this growing offshore sector and be the preferred solutions provider of drillers and operators in Mexico and the region.
