SINGAPORE OUTLINES KEY STRATEGIES TO CREATE VIBRANT ECONOMY
SINGAPORE, March 7 (Bernama) -- Singapore will continue to build a prudent high-performing government, one that is accountable and pro-business, in order to create a vibrant economy and bright future for Singaporeans, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Lim Hwee Hua.
"My Ministry will continue with efforts to build a high-performance government that is accountable to Singaporeans.
"We adopted a three-pronged approach, that is, to promote "Whole of Government Strategic Outcomes" by addressing important challenges and opportunities that cut across agency or ministry boundaries.
"It will inculcate a mindset of fiscal prudence among our agencies through various measures to promote value-for-money practices and build a collaborative government in e-Services delivery," said Lim, who is also Second Minister for Finance and Transport at Parliament here Monday.
Saying that Singapore was now well-regarded internationally as a vibrant city to live, work and play, she elaborated that the Ministry Of Finance would continue to push for better public sector performance so as to reach its collective goal of building a better Singapore.
She added over the past three decades, Singapore's e-Government
programmes have successfully leveraged advancements in technology to deliver convenient e-services for citizens and businesses.
"These efforts have not gone unnoticed. We are encouraged that today, Singapore is recognised as an e-Government leader internationally.
Looking ahead, Lim said citizens and businesses can expect to enjoy more convenient services and new platforms to collaborate with the government as part of the new e-Government Masterplan to be launched in June.
