Public security’s tradition recalled
VIENTIANE,MAR 07.(KPL)-) Over 200 officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Committee on External Relations of the Party Central Committee attended a lecture on the tradition of Public Security force.
Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security, the lecture is part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Public Security force (5 April 1961). Conducted by General Director of the National Public Security Academy Brigadier General Vilay Douangmany, the event saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hiem Phommachanh.
Brigadier General Vilay highlighted the history of the Public Security force, its establishment, heroic tradition of public security personnel in tackling social ills in different eras.
The lecture is aimed at enhancing the ideological education of Party members and civil servants in the Ministry and their understanding of the tradition, growth and dedication of police personnel to the security in society as well as involving public members in public security, fulfilling the national tasks of public security and national defence in particular, according to B.G. Vilay.
