Education Ministry warns of involving students in political conflicts

SANA'A, March 08 (Saba) - Ministry of Education warned on Tuesday of involving students in political disputes and partisan conflicts.
In a statement to Saba, Minister of Education Abdul-Salam al-Jawfi stressed that the ministry would hold accountable all of those involved in that in accordance with the legal procedures conceded to it.
Al-Jawfi called school to be respected by all and not to be involved in political and partisan conflicts, as the school is a center to educate students on the culture of love, tolerance and patriotism away from the culture of hatred and violence.
Involving school students in such disputes is a crime punishable by the Law and the Constitution, he added, noting to the press release issued by UNICEF Yemen Country Office in this regard.
UNICEF has expressed major concerns that children are increasingly becoming victims of violence in the current unrest felt all over Yemen.
In a press release, UNICEF made reference to confirmed reports from Aden, which read that a number of schools in al-Mansoura and al-Mu'alla districts of Aden governorate being attacked by demonstrators.
