FIRST BATCH OF PSD STUDENTS RETURN TO EGYPT WEDNESDAY

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 (Bernama) -- The first batch of 450 Public Service Department (PSD) sponsored students studying in Egypt will return to Cairo Wednesday morning.

The students, who handed in their passports on Monday, were expected to check-in their luggage at 10pm Tuesday for a 5.30am flight to Cairo Wednesday, according to a posting on the PSD portal.

The second group comprising 278 students will depart at 5.30am on Thursday, it said, adding that both groups of students registered online with the PSD.

It said students facing visa problems would be informed by the PSD on their flights.

The PSD reminded the students to renew their visa upon arrival in Egypt as it would expire on March 15.

The Malaysian government brought home 7,392 Malaysian citizens, mostly students from Egypt at the height of its uprising recently.
