Asean countries invited to international padi festıval 2011
LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia), March 9 (Bernama) -- Padi cultivation equipment and technology from Thailand and Indonesia will be among the items to be exhibited during the two-day Langkawi International Padi Festival 2011 here beginning July 23.
Langkawi Development Authority (Lada) public relations officer Ramizi Hassan said besides Thailand and Indonesia, participants from Singapore would also be present.
"The involvement by several Asean countries will enable them to exchange information and experience in field cultivation," he said here Wednesday.
The exhibition is organised jointly by the Ministry of Information
Communication and Culture, Kedah Culture and Arts Department, Lada and the Agriculture Department.
