Qatar is Completely Free of Bird Flu

Doha, March 09 (QNA) - The State of Qatar is proved to be completely free of bird flu epidemic , a periodical field survey of the poultry farms in Qatar has revealed.
The survey conducted by the ministry of environment as part of the precautionary measures the ministry has been adopted to combat such an epidemic and banning its access to qatar, has included a periodical field survey ot the poultry farms , the sale sites and the state's border exists and have made some tests of the disease which clearly showed through the lack of any birds infected with the disease.
A Ministry official source said in a press statement here Wednesday that the inspections and tests included (475) of type Shaheen and Hur falcons and (445) wild and domestic doves , (45) types of chicken (3052) and different types of pet birds.
The source further said that survey and tests campaigns included several centers of which Doha Veterinary centre ,the Monitoring Centre at Doha airport , the Monitoring Centre in Rayyan and the Monitoring Centre in Shahania , the Monitoring Centre in Al -Khor , the Arab Qatar Company for the production of poultry and the neighboring farms , Al Shamal Veterinary Centre , the Doha Port Maritime Center and Abu Samra border Centre.
