Singapore firms invited to venture into transport & energy projects in the Philippines
SINGAPORE, March 11 (Bernama) -- The Philippines is inviting Singaporean
companies to venture into transport and energy development in the country.
The call was made by its President, Benigno S. Aquino III, as he revisited
the Philippines-Singapore Action Plan and its role in promoting bilateral
business relations between both countries.
He was addressing members of the Singapore business community at the SBF/IE
Eminent Leaders Lecture here Friday.
His keynote lecture, "Philippines–Partnership for Progress", was
followed by a question-and-answer session where he fielded questions from the
300 delegates present.
The event rounded up a three-day state visit to Singapore by Aquino.
Aquino was welcomed by Lim Hng Kiang, Singapore's Minister for Trade and
Industry, as well as Choo Chiau Beng and Guillermo D. Luchangco,
both of whom co-chair the Philippines-Singapore Business Council (PSBC).
The event was jointly organised by the Singapore Business Federation,
International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the Embassy of the Philippines.
