ALLIANZ TO BOOST NUMBER OF WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS SUBSTANTIALLY

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- Germany-based Allianz Group is
determined to boost the number of women in leadership positions substantially on a global level.
In a statement Monday, Allianz said on the local front, its unit, Allianz Malaysia Group, was making progress with equal number of women and men employees who held head of department/division positions.
"The insurance unit, Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd, has 57 women managers out of 91 managers while about 53 per cent of the company's department and division heads are also women," it said.
It said its general insurance arm, Allianz General Insurance Co (M) Bhd, also has employees who were mostly women, making up almost 68 per cent of the staff.
Allianz Malaysia head of human resources, Mohd Parrish Ersalle Abdul Hameed, said the company promoted diversity and gender equality.
"Out of more than 1,500 staff in the group, almost 70 per cent are women," he said.
