Turkish premier meets OIC secretary-general
MECCA (A.A) - 21.03.2011 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in Mecca, Saudi Arabia on Monday.
Regional developments including the uprising in Libya and the relations between Turkey and the organization were high on agenda of the meeting.
Earlier, Prime Minister Erdogan was awarded with the title of honorary doctorate by the Ummul-Quraa University in Mecca.
He is expected to return to Turkey later in the day to chair a meeting with high-level officials from the General Staff, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Intelligence Agency in which developments in the region in the light of the onset of an international operation on Libya will be assessed in detail.
