India committed to resolve all issues with Pak: Singh

Rezaul H Laskar
Islamabad, Mar 22 (PTI) Indian Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh on Tuesday said India is committed to resolve all
outstanding issues with Pakistan through bilateral dialogue.
Singh made the remarks in a message of greetings sent
to his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani on the
occasion of Pakistan Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow.
"We sincerely desire to have peaceful and cooperative
relations between our two countries. We are committed to
resolving all outstanding issues with Pakistan through
bilateral dialogue," Singh was quoted as saying in a
statement issued by Gilani's office.
"I am hopeful that the current dialogue process would
lead to peace, progress and prosperity of the entire region,"
he said.
Singh also conveyed "felicitations and warm greetings"
to the people and government of the country on the occasion of
Pakistan Day.
India and Pakistan recently agreed to revive their
dialogue process, which was stalled in the wake of the 2008
Mumbai attacks that were blamed on the Pakistan-based
Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group. The Home and Interior
Secretaries of the two countries will meet in New Delhi later
this month to kick-start the process.
Pakistan Day commemorates the adoption of the Lahore
Resolution that led to the creation of the country and the
adoption of the country's first constitution.
