MERCEDES-BENZ EXPECTS BETTER SALES THIS YEAR
PETALING JAYA, March 23 (Bernama) -- Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd is
expecting to see better sales this year, said its President and Chief Executive
Officer, Roland S.Folger.
He said the confidence was based on several factors including encouraging
sales signals from the first quarter.
Orders have been good, and there has been better car production output this
year signalling a potential for increased sales, he said following a press
conference on the Mercedes-Benz Annual Golf Challenge 2011, at the Saujana Golf
and Country Club here Wednesday.
Asked on whether the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan had affected the
production of their car, Folger said this was still being looked at.
"My colleague told me that the car production has opened again in Japan but
to what extent they can maintain the production at last year's (level), we don't
know. It's difficult to say at the moment."
On another note, Folger said the Malaysian section of the Mercedes-Benz
Annual Golf Challenge 2011 will take off at the Tiara Melaka Golf and Country
Club on April 20.
The tournament is open to all Mercedes-Benz car owners.
The international series is played worldwide in a three stage system
beginning with the local (Malaysian Final), the Asian Final and the World Final
which will be held in Stuttgart, Germany.
Further details on the golf challenge can be obtained by contacting the
company's Customer Care Centre at 1-800-88-1133.
