SPRING ANNOUNCES MEASURES TO BEEF UP SINGAPORE'S ENTERPRISE SECTOR
SINGAPORE, March 25 (Bernama) -- Singapore's enterprise development agency,
SPRING Singapore announced Friday the SPRING Start-up Enterprise Development
Scheme or SEEDS programme.
The Chairman of Spring Seeds Capital, Tan Kai Hoe said the programme was
among several initiatives taken to nurture a conducive ecosystem to enable the
creation and growth of Innovative Start-Ups in the republic.
"We actually look at entrepreneurship more holistically and have different
programmes targeted at different aspects of the ecosystem.
"This is to catalyse the conversion of innovative ideas into start-ups, and
hopefully into the successful global businesses of tomorrow," he said in his
welcoming address at the SPRING SEEDS Conference 2011 here Friday.
Tan said given the limited size of the local market, access to international
markets was an important growth strategy for Singapore's start-ups.
"Today, more than 30 SPRING SEEDS companies have ventured abroad; going
forward we will endeavour to make a greater push in this area," he added.
